Preparing for the upgrade
The upgrade files are ready and we are preparing the documentation to help your IT person carry out the upgrade. There are a few things that you can do in the meantime that will not affect your existing Webquery system. Please carry out the following steps in preparation for the WebQuery 2010 upgrade:
Download and install the Microsoft.Net Framework version 4 and the latest service pack (if any)
Backup the Webquery folder and all sub folders.
Backup the Webquery database.
If you have customised stylesheets for your bureaus, please zip them up and email them to us so we can convert them for you. WebQuery now creates a stylesheet for each new user and it needs permission to write into the Stylesheet sub folder in the same way that it needs permission to update the SEM file in the ADSW folder. If possible, allow write permission on the Stylesheet sub folder for the ASPNET user account. If you cannot grant permission, WebQuery will be unable to create or modify stylesheets, however, you will still be able to create or modify them manually through the file system just as you do currently.
